I spend my days helping senior citizens who live in supportive housing and have nowhere else to turn. My job title is housekeeper, but I am much more than that. I meet these individuals at the end of their lives, and it’s important that someone is watching out for them.
I was there with them throughout the darkest days of the pandemic. I feel fortunate I was able to stay employed when so many people across the city lost their job. But it was terrifying, and I watched as many of my tenants died from Covid-19.
