The Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame (LIMEHOF) is launching its inaugural festival, LIMEHOF Music Documentary Film Festival, this summer.
LIMEHOF Music Documentary Film Festival will be held August 8-10 at LIMEHOF’s Stony Brook location, with each day’s events starting at 11 a.m. and running into the evening hours.
The festival will feature 24 feature length and short music documentary films from around the world, including a wide range of music genres such as classical, Hip Hop, rock, jazz, ska, blues and folk. Other films focus on the music industry itself, a pirate radio station and break dancing.
LIMEHOF Music Documentary Film Festival will also have a filmmaker Q&A panel, opening and closing parties each night and live music performances. Some of the performing artists include English pop star Billy J Kramer, Mick Lynch of the folk-pop band Guggenheim Frotto, Public Enemy’s, revolutionary Hip Hop group, DJ Johnny Juice and many more.
Some of the opening films include Building the Beatles, Cat’s in the Cradle 50th Anniversary: The Song That Changed Our Lives and Coming Home: The Guggenheim Grotto Back in Ireland. Several other films slated to be featured throughout the festival including Garland Jeffreys: The King of In Betweem, Hello! My Name is Blotto: THE MOVIE, The Bronx Boys – The Evolution of B-Boy Culture and many more.
