The Fearless Girl statue was meant to stay for only a week, but it proved so popular that eventually a stint at Bowling Green was parlayed into a residency on Broad Street near the New York Stock Exchange. This week, however, the artwork’s three-year permit expired. Now the matter goes to the city Landmarks Preservation Commission, which reviews installations in the area because the Lower Manhattan street plan is considered a landmark under a 1983 designation.
