Yusuf / Cat Stevens is stepping back into the spotlight this fall not just with a guitar in hand, but with a lifetime of stories. In support of his long-awaited new memoir, Cat on the Road to Findout, the legendary artist is embarking on a book tour blending conversation, acoustic performance, and spiritual reflection across North America this fall.
Titled Cat on the Road to Findout– An Evening of Tales, Tunes and Other Mysteries, the tour isn’t just a book launch but a full sensory storytelling experience. Audiences can expect unplugged versions of classic generational songs, candid reflections, original illustrations, and footage spanning Yusuf/Stevens’ multifaceted life, offering an intimate journey through life and music of one of the most beloved artists of our time. The tour is a rare opportunity to hear Yusuf/Stevens reflect on the triumphs, trials and transcendental quest that shaped his music and worldview and to experience the timeless messages of hope, peace and personal truth that continue to resonate through his work.
Cat On The Road To Findout is a passage into the mind of a man who has lived a thousand lives. Missing from the public narrative has been the intimate story of his deeply emotive transformation, until now. The book reveals the curious complexity and intellectual reasoning behind his navigation through life– a voyage which has now culminated in his return to music and art, to share his lessons with those seekers, dreamers, and believers, who still love and admire him. He remains true to the optimistic message of his melodic peace train. The book is illustrated with dozens of drawings in Yusuf/Stevens’ own hand and archival imagery, self-penned with raw honesty and poetic insight.

Cat on the Road to Findout will be published in hardback, ebook and audiobook format (narrated by the author) by Genesis Publications in North America on October 7 and by Constable in the U.K. on September 18. Click here to preorder.
As an evolution of Yusuf/Stevens’ momentous A Cat’s Attic tour in 2016-17, Cat on the Road to Findout offers an intimate night where stories, songs, and truth intertwine. It’s more than a performance— it’s a look into Yusuf/Stevens’ universe. Personal art, illustrations and photographs, flickering film, and treasured artifacts invite audiences deeper into his journey, while the live and recorded music and candid tales show the man behind it all.
“Having passed through the exhaustingly complex maze of everyday material life, ascending the dizzying heights of wealth, recognition, and artistic achievements, I think I’ve got a few things to share. Keeping an open mind was part of the nature I instinctively maintained as a creative songwriter. Nothing was off-bounds. Music was a way of discovering my purpose within the universe. I just kept on exploring, reading, and learning more, ignoring myths and warnings and crossing dangerous-looking bridges into the vast ranges of philosophies and through the veils of the spiritual unknown. Now I have written a book which explains what I’ve learned and the stories along the way. That doesn’t make me a teacher, but more of a potential specimen for those who are searching and pursuing happiness on all sides of the divide. Believe me, folks, it’s out there!”
Yusuf/Cat Stevens
Stevens rose to fame in the ‘60s with chart-topping pop hits such as “Matthew and Son” and “The First Cut Is the Deepest.” His early career was interrupted by a near-fatal battle with tuberculosis, which ignited his quest for peace and understanding. He rapidly rose to become one of the most prolific singer/songwriter icons of the ‘70s, captivating the world with soul-stirring anthems such as “Wild World,” “Father and Son,” “Peace Train,” and “Morning Has Broken.” His classic albums Mona Bone Jakon, Tea for the Tillerman, and Teaser and the Firecat earned him a place in both the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
After a life-threatening experience and a near-drowning incident in 1975, Yusuf/Stevens’ life took a profound spiritual shift. He converted to Islam, changed his name to Yusuf Islam, and stepped away from the music industry. Devoting himself to faith, family, and humanitarian efforts, Yusuf earned widespread recognition for his charitable work. He received numerous prestigious international honors, including the World Award for “humanitarian relief work helping children and victims of war” and the Man of Peace Award, voted for by The Nobel Peace Laureates.
Yusuf’s return to music marks a powerful new chapter in his journey, bridging his past and present. Now known as Yusuf/Cat Stevens—a name that symbolizes the synergy between two defining phases of his life—his story is one of searching, resilience, and renewal. With over 100 million records sold and billions of streams, his distinctive voice and poetic songs continue to resonate deeply. Today, his music is inseparable from his commitment to activism, education, and compassion. As a vocal advocate for faith-based learning, environmental awareness, and humanitarian causes, Yusuf stands as a global symbol of peace and unity.

Legendary singer-songwriter Yusuf/Cat Stevens will bring his much-anticipated 2025 tour to New York City’s Beacon Theatre on October 11, 2025. The U.S. date follows a series of seven shows in the U.K., beginning September 6 in Cambridge.
Tickets are now on sale via CatStevens.com, with measures in place to ensure fair pricing. To maintain ticket affordability and prevent scalping, the tour will utilize Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange. This system makes tickets mobile-only and non-transferable, allowing fans who can no longer attend to resell their tickets at the original purchase price directly through Ticketmaster.
Please note: the Face Value Exchange does not apply to shows in Illinois and New York due to state restrictions. Additional details about how the Ticketmaster Exchange works can be found here.
For fans who have followed Yusuf’s winding path through fame, faith, and introspection, Cat on the Road to Findout offers more than nostalgia—it’s a roadmap to a life fully lived, in search of meaning and melody.
