New on-stage discussion series Studio Confidential will make its New York City debut this February, uniting music visionaries who shaped iconic recordings, from James Taylor, Johnny Cash, to Van Morrison. Through candid and often funny reflections, the series reveals the artistry and innovation behind some of music’s most celebrated works.
With 31 GRAMMY® wins and credits on over 7,000 recordings under their name, the studio trailblazers — also known as METalliance (Music Engineering and Technology Alliance) — will feature producer and engineer Jimmy Douglass, producer, mixer, and engineer Sylvia Massy, producer and engineer Niko Bolas, and more. Together, their credits include Foreigner, Linda Ronstadt, Carole King, ‘The Godfather’ soundtrack, and many more.
The discussion series will not only provide an in-depth look into the industry but also add a comical, unfiltered layer to the series. From when a rock ’n’ roll legend’s eccentric payment plan left one producer in an unexpectedly dark situation to an engineer’s hunt for the perfect sound effect that took a dangerously literal turn, these unpredictable moments are what make music come to life.
Records are timeless. They’re forever. The day that you cut it is just one day, but if you do it right, it’s the soundtrack of your life.

After a sold-out, critically praised preview at Connecticut’s Ridgefield Playhouse earlier this year, Studio Confidential will launch a residency at The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture’s Loreto Theater. From February 3–March 1, 2026, the series will present 6–7 shows weekly, reaching thousands of fans both in person and online.
