Local Scene Comes Alive at Montage for Inverity EP Release Show

On August 2nd, the Montage Music Hall in Rochester was transformed into a hub of local metal energy for the release of Burn The Page, the new EP by Rochester’s own Inverity.

With a stacked lineup that included Grey Wash, Amatera, Valoria, and Destroy and Create, the night was more than just a show—it was a full-on celebration of community, passion, and heavy music.

Amatera

The evening kicked off with Grey Wash, a relatively new band out of Buffalo, taking the stage with the hunger and energy you expect from a group just beginning to make waves. Despite being only a year into their journey, they delivered a tight set that signaled their potential to grow into something fierce.

Next up was Amatera, a young but promising band from Rochester. They kept the energy rolling and gave local fans something to get excited about. It’s always refreshing to see newer bands holding their own on stage, and Amatera did just that.

Destroy//Create

Then came Valoria, who made the trip all the way from Rhode Island and added a unique twist to the lineup. Not only did they bring high intensity and solid musicianship, but they also featured a saxophone—an instrument rarely seen in a metal setting. It worked surprisingly well, giving their sound an avant-garde edge that stood out.

Hometown favorites Destroy and Create followed, and the crowd’s response said it all. These Rochester veterans brought the house down with a commanding performance. Their blend of metalcore and emotion had the audience moving, moshing, and shouting along, proving why they’re such a staple in the local scene.

Former bassist of Inverity joined in for a song

Finally, the night culminated with Inverity, the band everyone came to celebrate. Celebrating their release of their EP Burn The Page, they wasted no time launching into a high-octane set full of crushing riffs, breakdowns, and crowd engagement. The set reached a special moment when former bassist Scott Stone returned to the stage to play a song—an emotional nod to the band’s journey and a powerful moment of nostalgia for longtime fans. This is not the end for Inverity and Destroy and Create, as they are running a small tour together.

What tied the night together wasn’t just the music, but the strong sense of community. From newcomers to seasoned scene vets, everyone came together like one big family. It wasn’t just a show—it was a gathering of people who care deeply about their scene, their bands, and the power of live music.
