On Monday, March 9th fans met at Empire Underground to see Worry Club on their “I’m Freaking Out” tour with supporting guests Bugsy and Wakelee. Even though it was a Monday night by the energy in the crowd you’d have thought it was a Friday night.
Opener Bugsy from Minneapolis opened first with a catalog of originals that were indie-pop expressing emotional themes. The intro to their song ‘hard to breath’ singer Emily Schoonover made a statement to the audience, “Lesbians in the crowd this one is for you” earning cheers around the venue. They also had at their merch stand resources for people to know their rights against ICE and support their communities.
Wakelee from Brooklyn also brought a catalog of indie-rock originals, even trying a new song for the Albany crowd. In between songs the audience got an insight into them recording their latest EP ‘Doghouse’ and the teasing of a new record rumored to come later this year.
Chatter spread throughout the venue as lights dimmed and leading music started to play for Worry Club to come onto stage. The Chicago band started in 2020 just as the pandemic began, created by Chase Walsh. They are now touring the U.S. To celebrate the release of their debut studio album I’m Freaking Out.

Lead singer Chase took control of the crowd by dancing and even at one point getting everyone to the ground to jump into the chorus. He acknowledges how they’re mad because the world sucks and let this be a place everyone could have fun and love one another.
Throughout the set the energy never dipped, Chase after introducing drummer Dean Sinclair joked “Dean really likes when I shake ass to this song but I don’t shake ass alone, do you guys shake ass Albany?” To which cheers erupted in Empire Underground and the singer proceeded to just as he said he would.

Worry Club made Albany light up even on a Monday night when many after the show were traveling to go to work or school the next morning. Before ending the night with the last few songs like ‘Come and Get It’ and ‘Too Dumb To Die’, Chase let the crowd know “I fuck with your city it’s beautiful.”
