Psych-rock trio Lukka have announced their third album Wendekind, set for release on June 5, along with the debut of the record’s first single, “Fabric of the Cosmos.” The band will celebrate the release with a single show on March 25 at Berlin in New York City.
Lukka is the project of German-born, NYC-based artist Franzi Szymkowiak, who continues to expand her psychedelic sonic palette on Wendekind. The new record builds on the foundation of the band’s 2022 sophomore release Something Human, moving further into immersive, synth-driven territory.
Recorded at Transmitter Park Studios in Brooklyn, the album was produced by Abe Seiferth, known for his work with Nation of Language, Neon Indian, and Guerilla Toss.
The core lineup features bassist Ashley Gonzalez and drummer Simon “SiFi” Fishburn, creating a tightly focused trio driven by pulsing basslines, propulsive rhythms, delayed guitars, and layers of analog synths. Their sound blends hypnotic grooves with melody-forward songwriting and atmospheric production.
Discussing the new single, Szymkowiak says “Fabric of the Cosmos” explores the idea of seeing beyond the three-dimensional world through what she describes as “e-motion”—electric motion and vibration—along with dreams and day visions. The song drifts into a metaphysical space, reflecting the album’s broader themes.

Across Wendekind, Lukka examines memory, loss, and identity while reflecting on cosmic ideas like space, time, and transformation. Szymkowiak describes the album as a personal and spiritual journey shaped by the events of the past few years.
The album’s title carries personal significance. Born during the period surrounding the fall of the Fall of the Berlin Wall, Szymkowiak belongs to a generation in former East Germany often called “Wendekinder,” referring to children born during a time of dramatic societal change. The title Wendekind reflects both that history and the artist’s own reflections on growth and identity.
With Wendekind, Lukka further refines an expansive sound that sits comfortably within today’s space-rock and neo-psychedelic landscape, offering a deeply reflective and immersive listening experience.
