Boys Don’t Fight, a solo project of Louisiana-based musician Chris Giarmo, has released their third single from their latest eponymous album, “Jo.”
Unlike their previously released singles, “The Megaman Song” and “Bolero,” “Jo” is a piano ballad that departs from the record’s synth-heavy tracks, offering a wide-ranging showcase of genres from Boys Don’t Fight.
Anchored by layered vocals and a driving piano pulse, “Jo” channels the push and pull between loss and perseverance. Raw and emotional, it showcases Boys Don’t Fight’s range—both vocally and stylistically—offering an acoustic contrast to the album’s more playful, eclectic tracks.
Having performed internationally with David Byrne, Taylor Mac, and Annie-B Parson/Big Dance Theater—at venues including The Sydney Opera House, Coachella Music Festival, Brooklyn Academy of Music, and on Broadway – Giarmo’s magnetic and inviting stage presence keeps audiences glued to his energy.
As the three released singles suggest, Boys Don’t Fight moves like the ocean itself – caught between the waves, feeling breathless yet alive, a similar paradoxical mirror of falling in love.
In anticipation of the album’s release on October 17, Boys Don’t Fight will host a NYC record release on October 19 at Parkside Lounge with the support of singer-songwriter Maya Sharpe.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the show starting at 7 p.m. Tickets purchased in advance are $20 and $25 at the door. Purchase tickets here.
