A Psychedelic Anthem of Survival: SORRYNOTSORRY’s “Foggy Like a Bladerunner”

With experimental textures and a psychedelic layered sound, SORRYNOTSORRY’s upcoming single, “Foggy Like a Bladerunner,” transports listeners to a space between reflection and resilience— where themes of survival, disillusionment, and clarity surface.

“Foggy Like a Bladerunner,” the third single from Venezuelan duo SORRYNOTSORRY’s upcoming debut album, The Other Side, is a song shaped by both literal and emotional atmosphere.

Written and produced by Sam Dagnino and Andrés Cottin, the track emerged in the middle of New York City’s wildfire haze. Part of it was recorded on a portable rig as smoke settled over the city. The moment gave the song its title— a joking reference that ultimately stuck.

The song leans into disillusionment with layered textures and hypnotic fingerpicking, building gradually into a cathartic release. Its lyrics— repeating lines like “We’ve gone through war/ We’re still alive”— act as a mantra, threading together themes of survival, clarity and transformation.

The production, mastered by Zach Kornhauser (Sia, Portugal. The Man), balances intimacy with scale, creating space for both introspection and anthem-like lift.

Based in Brooklyn, SORRYNOTSORRY was formed after an impromptu jam session sparked a creative partnership between Dagnino and Cottin. Drawing a mix of improvisation, cinematic soundscapes, and emotional honesty, their music draws comparisons to Radiohead, Khruangbin, and Tame Impala. Yet, their approach carries a sense of instinct driven exploration that maintains a spirit all on its own.

With a string of singles leading up to their debut album, The Other Side, “Foggy Like a Bladerunner” stands out as a meditative, immersive entry point into their vision.

“Foggy Like a Bladerunner” is available to stream June 13 on Spotify, Apple Music, and Youtube.
