Madame Tussauds unveils 13 Taylor Swift wax figures. Here’s how fans reacted

Taylor Swift is coming to a city near you…in wax form.

Madame Tussauds unveiled 13 new wax figures of the superstar on Wednesday, with each replicating a look from her recent record-breaking Eras Tour.

Fans across four continents will now have an opportunity to catch a glimpse of Swift (Taylor’s wax version).

Swifties in the U.S. can find her in her “Midnights” era in New York wearing a multicolored tinsel jacket, her “Speak Now” era in Hollywood wearing a lilac ballgown, her “Evermore” era in Nashville wearing a floor-length mustard-colored dress, her “Fearless” era in Las Vegas wearing a gold-fringed mini dress, and her “Reputation” era in Orlando wearing a black sequined catsuit with a red snake embellishment.

Figures will also be on display in Amsterdam, Berlin, Blackpool, England, Budapest, Hungary, Hong Kong, London and Sydney. A touring figure will make its first stop in Shanghai.

Dates that the figures will be on display will soon be announced.

“This is the most ambitious project in Madame Tussauds’ 250-year history which only feels right to reflect the stratospheric status of Taylor Swift,” said Danielle Cullen, Madame Tussauds’ senior figure stylist. “It feels a fitting celebration to give Swifties the chance to commemorate moments from this once-in-a-generation tour in a way that only Madame Tussauds can.”

A team of 40 artists from Madame Tussauds worked for 14 months on the project, partnering with fashion houses like Roberto Cavalli, Vivienne Westwood, Versace, Christian Louboutin, Alberta Ferretti and Etro to recreate Swift’s looks.

Swifties had a wide range of reactions to the figures.

“These are the most realistic wax figures I’ve ever seen. Fantastic job,” said one commenter on Madame Tussauds’ Instagram post.

“Iconic twins wax and the original,” praised another.

“What do you mean I’m flying to 13 cities?!!” asked another.

“Some of these should have frizzy hair!” one Swiftie demanded.

“Someone should put a travel itinerary together for Swifties and sell it as a package. Just saying,” another suggested.

Swift’s 13-figure unveiling tops the previous highs of eight Lady Gaga figures in 2011 and seven Harry Styles figures in 2023.

“Taylor Swift is a generational icon and a cultural powerhouse,” said Madame Tussauds global brand director Laura Sheard. “Madame Tussauds has a centuries-old legacy of holding a mirror up to the world of fame, immortalizing the profiles that are making an imprint on the day’s culture. Taylor Swift’s influence spans music, fashion, film, activism and even the economy.”

Swift first took the stage for her wax debut at Madame Tussauds in 2010.

“It’s kind of trippy for me, to be honest,” she said at the time while standing beside her figure in a matching outfit.

A team of artists had traveled to Nashville to measure and photograph the then 21-year old singer and recreate her likeness.

“I spent about three hours with a studio artist doing everything from casting my hands exactly the way that they needed to be in like this rubbery goop stuff,” Swift told the Associated Press at the time. “They took so many pictures, they had drawings that they were doing, they had a lot of stuff they were doing to make sure that this was accurate. So, it’s really cool to see it all paid off.”
