Introducing EQUITONE [inspires]: Nature’s palette, reimagined

EQUITONE, a global leader in high-performance fiber cement facade materials, has introduced its [inspires] collection to the North American market. Now available in the United States and Canada, the collection expands the role of fiber cement by combining durability with digitally printed surfaces that reference the colors, textures, and structures of the natural world. The launch marks a significant step in broadening material choices for architects looking to integrate expressive, nature‑influenced design into high‑performance building envelopes.

A New Approach to Printed Fiber Cement

At the core of the [inspires] collection is a digitally printed surface applied to high‑density fiber cement panels. Each finish is protected by a UV‑resistant matte coating that preserves detail while shielding the surface from fading and environmental wear.

The panels are engineered for longevity. The high‑density core delivers the structural stability expected of EQUITONE materials, supported by resistance to dirt, abrasion, and graffiti. Panels are offered in 2,500 by 1,250 millimeters and 3,100 by 1,250 millimeters formats, all at 8-millimeter thickness, making them suitable for a range of facade scales and installation approaches.

Grounded in Nature, Reimagined for Architecture

Guided by the campaign theme “Nature’s Palette, Reimagined,” the EQUITONE [inspires] collection uses organic references to transform structures into living canvases. Featuring digitally printed surfaces, these high-density fiber cement panels empower architects to create expressive, durable, and biophilic designs that harmonize the built environment with the beauty of earth’s elements.

“[inspires] is more than just a facade material—it’s an invitation to design boldly and with intention,” said Harry Harisberger, director of sales at EQUITONE. “By fusing advanced digital printing with our trusted fiber cement technology, we’re empowering architects to transform buildings into meaningful expressions of the natural world.”

Eight Decor Families

The [inspires] collection features eight distinct decors inspired by natural materials—ranging from woodgrains and stone to rust, coral, and leaves. Each panel showcases non-repeating, digitally printed designs within the panel that evoke authentic natural patterns with unmatched clarity and precision.

Build for Demanding Conditions

With a smooth, hard surface, and exceptional weather resistance, [inspires] panels offer more than aesthetic appeal. The material is engineered to perform in even the most demanding environments, boasting resistance to frost, moisture, and living organisms. Designed to last for over 50 years with minimal maintenance, the collection provides long-term value while meeting the high safety standards of fire resistance (noncombustible per ASTM E136).

Two Surface Ranges, Distinct Design Intent

Expressive

The Expressive range draws from the natural beauty of materials like wood, concrete, rust, and stone, offering a wide palette of textures and finishes that bring biophilic design to life. With 30 total finish options—eight in wood, ten in concrete, four in rust, and eight in stone—this range allows for visually striking facades grounded in nature’s diversity.

Artistic

The Artistic range introduces a more experimental set of five finishes: Coral Viva, Coral Trace, Leaves, Sine Wave, and Carved Wood. Developed through international design workshops with architects, these surfaces emphasize movement, pattern, and sculptural qualities. Each finish carries a distinct point of view, making the range especially suited for projects where the facade plays a central narrative or spatial role.
