F.I.R.E Festival Lights up Syracuse this March

What started as an idea to uplift female artists became a powerful movement. Musician Jess Novak is the force behind F.I.R.E festival – short for Females, Inspire, Rock, Empower – an event dedicated to highlighting female creators and transforming the space with music, art, and imaginations created by women, and reimagining what artistic spaces can look like when they are women centered.

On Sunday, March 8, the dynamic event will be taking place at Middle Ages Brewing Company, 120 Wilkinson St., Syracuse, from 2-6pm with doors at 1pm. Rather than simply just hosting performances, the festival invites attendees to step into a shared creative environment that values collaboration, visibility, and community.

From local idea to growing movement for women

Since its launch in October 2022, F.I.R.E festival has flourished. It now features the work of more than 200 women across various creative fields throughout and expanding from Central New York. With each event, this festival strengthens its reach while staying grounded to its original mission.

This coming festival is reflective of that growth. Those in attendance will hear live music from a wide range of female artists. This includes female musicians Ashley Cox, Mira Grimm, Jessica Brown, Dani Rocca, Triad Trio, Karma Queen, Chloe Danes, Amanda Ashley and more. In addition, SpeakDance CNY and Dancers North will deliver live dancer performances. Together, these elements will allow the audience to experience the women who are at the heart of the events mission.

F.I.R.E Festival Syracuse, Centering Women During Women’s History Month

In celebration of Women’s History Month, a major F.I.R.E festival Syracuse takes place during March. This reinforces the events purpose: to honor women, not just for past contributions, but the work they continue to create today. This festival has transformed recognition into action.

Smaller events will be held throughout the year, continuing the commitment to honoring all women, across various ages, regions, and backgrounds. In doing so, F.I.R.E remains inclusive and welcoming. This event invites everyone to engage with and appreciate the lasting impact women have on art and culture.
