MSG Entertainment has announced that Radio City Music Hall, an iconic venue for all sorts of live performances, will debut the Sphere Immersive Sound in their 2025 Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes.
Following this all concerts and events at the music hall will feature the state-of-the-art sound system beginning in 2026.
Sphere Immersive Sound uses next-generation 3D audio beamforming and Wave Field Synthesis technology which transforms how audio is delivered. Instead of blasting the sound everywhere it aims the sounds directly to each seat, Wave Field Synthesis helps to create the illusion that sound is coming from everywhere in the room, even the places without speakers, making it different from surround-sound systems such as Dolby Atmos.
The result is controlled and consistent; each seat in the house receives the perfect balanced audio. With more the 7,000 individually amplified loudspeaker drivers the system will provide artist and engineers greater programming control and flexibility to specialize audio and send different sounds to specific spots in the theater. This system was specifically created for Sphere in Las Vegas; however, it is the next generation of sound systems and is redefining live entertainment.

The debut for this system, the annual Christmas Spectacular iconic holiday entertainment, takes place at one of the most iconic venues.
The 2025 Christmas Spectacular opens November 6. Tickets are available online or in person at the Ticketmaster Box Office at Radio City Music Hall.
