Brooklyn-based and psychedelic rock duo SORRYNOTSORRY has released a new single, “Disappear,” in anticipation of their upcoming third album, The Other Side, set to be released on October 17.
“Disappear” journeys through the mounting weight of yearning and loss. Elevated by Samantha Dagnino’s raw and fervent vocals, the track transports listeners to the world of grief, almost like free-falling into the darkness, while its soul-baring lyrics transcend listeners to a feeling that is all too familiar.
I was singing from a broken heart. There’s something about capturing a moment like that, where you are alone in your room with a guitar expressing a deep feeling, you can’t replace or replicate that in a studio or on a computer.

While Dagnino transports listeners to darkness, Andrés Cottin’s production on the guitar blurs the lines between shoegaze and the duo’s recognized psychedelic rock sound. Cottin hooks listeners in with a gentle strumming, setting the scene for Dagnino’s loss before transitioning to a brutal climax as Dagnino faces her loss. Cottin’s magnificent strumming echoes the burdens of loss, creating the duo’s most emotional track to date.
SORRYNOTSORRY was first formed in an impromptu jam session in a Long Island City recording studio, quickly evolving into a lasting creative partnership defined by spontaneity and authenticity. After stepping away from music for eight years, Dagnino reunited with Cottin, crafting music that is intuitive and genre-bending, blending elements of trip hop, indie rock, and electronic into soundscapes that are as vulnerable as they are boundary-pushing.
“Disappear” marks a bold and vulnerable milestone for SORRYNOTSORRY, blending raw emotion and experimental sound into their most personal work yet.
