The Senate is poised to take up a doomed vote on abortion rights legislation Wednesday afternoon, a largely symbolic effort in response to the Supreme Court’s draft opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade.
While a vote on nearly identical legislation failed in February, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer suggested the court’s draft opinion, published by POLITICO last week, had changed the landscape.
