As the impacts of the pandemic closures and relief policies continue to play out in the hospitality business, one Brooklyn owner has found a way to pass the torch on a restaurant that no longer makes sense for her to operate.
“Covid was hard,” said Tara Oxley, who has run Eugene & Co. on the corner of Tompkins and Jefferson Avenues in Bedford Stuyvesant since late 2014. “It broke me a little bit.”
Now, she has found an exit that honors her hard work and gives her a way out, by selling the majority share of the restaurant to a pair of former employees, Caitlin Frame and Laura Poladsky. They
