New York City bookworms devoured The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett, a novel published in June 2020 that became the most-borrowed library book in four of the city’s boroughs.
Other popular titles at city libraries were The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah, a story that takes place during the Great Depression; A Promised Land by Barack Obama; Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson; The Guest List by Lucy Foley; and Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro.
