Women’s Travel Fest Marks 10th Year Of Sharing Expertise And Experiences

When Kelly Lewis started the Women’s Travel Fest in New York City in 2013, she was a bartender with neither a blueprint nor the funds for organizing such an event. However, her passion for seeing the world fueled her interest in pulling off this project.

“There really wasn’t a ‘women’s travel’ genre and the concept of solo female travel was just picking up speed,” Lewis recalled. “I was questioned often by people—men, mostly—about why we needed this, why this was important; how travel experiences differ between the genders and in so many ways beyond that.”
