WisdomTree Investments yields to activist investor’s demands

WisdomTree Investments waved the white flag after a dissident investor clashed with founder and CEO Jonathan Steinberg, the husband of Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo.

The investment firm, whose stock is 75% below its peak, appointed the dissident’s two nominees to the board and agreed that all directors will stand for election at the same time, among other changes.

“My hope and expectation is that the changes announced today will be the start of the process of improvement, which we believe is needed,” said Graham Tuckwell, chairman of ETFS Capital, which holds an 18.6% stake. “As WisdomTree’s largest individual stockholder, I have a great interest in the company’s success
