Sharon Redhead, a landlord who owns about 50 apartments across four East Flatbush buildings, just got her latest heating bill last week. She was not very happy with the inflationary costs.
“They’re up probably about 30% over this time last year,” she said. “This is out of the ordinary—definitely out of the ordinary.”
Landlords across New York are bracing for unpleasant heating bills like this throughout the winter as the country deals with its highest natural gas prices in years.
