Times Square rally opens up introspection over anti-Asian violence

A rally in Times Square aimed at broadening awareness to racial violence served as the impetus for politicians, criminal justice experts and concerned citizens to examine the causes behind unprovoked attacks against Asian women in New York City that have sharply risen since the beginning of the pandemic.

With a city reeling following two murders of Asian women and another near-fatal beating, Governor Kathy Hochul joined more than dozen speakers at a “Justice for Asian Women” rally on Wednesday night.
