The real cost of free delivery is $10

A locally owned, 20-person company is betting it can carve out a place for itself in the crowded last-mile delivery space by building small warehouses in Manhattan, using cargo bikes to cut through traffic congestion, and being frank about the true cost of delivering an order.
 
The company, MetroSpeedy, now delivers thousands of packages each day for both business-to-business accounts and directly to consumers, according to its founder and chief executive, Nancy Korayim.
