The first retail tenant for Durst's new LIC rental tower: a brewery

A big portion of the new retail space at a Long Island City residential development will become a brewery meant to be both an amenity for tenants and an attraction for the neighborhood.

Ten-year-old Finback Brewery will run the 3,800-square-foot space as a tap room and microbrewery, opening in early 2023. It is located at the Durst Organization’s new development, Sven, at 29-59 Northern Blvd. The asking rent was $125 per square foot, and Finback’s lease is for 15 years, according to Eric Englehardt, senior vice president of commercial leasing at Durst, who represented the landlord in-house.
