That’s part of the vision for SoHo startup Air Co., which Tuesday said it has raised $30 million in a Series A funding deal.
Air Co.’s original product is the world’s first carbon-negative vodka. The vodka is created solely through water and carbon dioxide that is captured from the atmosphere. Proponents of the carbon-capture process view it as a tool in thwarting the worst outcomes of global climate change.
Whereas the process to create vodka through the traditional fermentation of potatoes emits carbon, Air Co. says each $65, 750-milliliter bottle of its vodka soaks up a similar amount of carbon as
