Proposed changes to a city law requiring employers to post a salary range with job listings will set back its stated goal of preventing pay disparity, supporters of the original law said in a hearing Tuesday.
The City Council is considering a bill that would amend a pay transparency law approved last year, including by pushing its effective date back from May 15 to Nov. 1 and exempting businesses with fewer than 15 employees.
