NY, NJ Tax Filing Date Pushed to May 17, Matching Federal Move

What to KnowNew York and New Jersey residents are getting an extra month to file their state income taxes.New York State Budget Director Robert Mujica Jr. said Friday that the filing deadline will move from April 15 to May 17.Meanwhile, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, Treasurer Elizabeth Muoio, Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee Chairman Paul Sarlo, and Assembly Budget Committee Chairwoman Eliana Pintor Marin made the announcement that New Jersey’s income tax filing and payment due date will be automatically extended from April 15 to May 17.
