Lander plans ‘climate loans,’ environmental justice audits

In an office typically consumed by audits and budget tables, newly elected City Comptroller Brad Lander has set his sights on tackling a global challenge that doesn’t lend itself to easy analysis.

“Long term, I want to get started right away by confronting the climate crisis,” he said. “The Covid crisis shows what happens when you’re not prepared for a crisis and the cost it has in lives and in dollars.”
