The incoming Adams administration is embracing cryptocurrency—and the feeling appears mutual within the rising technology sector.
On Monday the online developer community CityCoins said it would soon launch NYCCoin, a virtual currency token that will dedicate 30% of its proceeds to a wallet available for the city’s use. The move came days after Mayor-elect Eric Adams said in an interview that he would like New York to have a dedicated virtual coin similar to the one in Miami, which CityCoins also created and was endorsed by Mayor Francis Suarez.
“We’re glad to welcome you to the global home of Web3,” Adams wrote in response to CityCoins announcement Monday
