New Yorkers are scrambling to find at-home Covid-19 tests as the city continues to break daily case records amid a surge of the omicron variant.
City health data showed a steep increase on Wednesday in the daily rate of new cases. On average for the past seven days, 31,352 daily cases were confirmed, and the positivity rate stood at 34.8%. That’s up from 17,242 new confirmed cases and a 22.8% positivity rate for the past 28 days.
