City Council OKs proposals for two new Prospect Heights towers

The New York City Council approved the land-use proposals for two mixed-use residential developments that will increase affordable housing capacity near the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

City Council members voted by a 48-1 margin yesterday to approve two 17-story residential towers at 870-888 Atlantic Ave. and 1034-1042 Atlantic Ave. that will add 150 total affordable housing units to Community District 8 in Prospect Heights. The developments will provide a total of 438 new residential units and will include both commercial and community space on their ground-floor levels.
