Amid omicron surge, restaurants, Broadway shows make tough call

Last week a number of restaurants interrupted their food posts on Instagram with somber announcements.

“Due to the rising cases of Covid, Leland will be closed starting tomorrow,” read a Friday update for the Leland Eating and Drinking House in Brooklyn.

“In light of the rising wave of Covid cases in New York City, Employees Only will be temporarily closed this weekend,” said a post from the popular West Village bar.

“One of our staff members tested positive for Covid,” read a post from Eugene & Co. in Greenpoint. “In order to get everyone tested and provide for a safe environment, we will be closed Thursday and Friday.
