A look inside Cyrus Vance Jr.’s tenure as Manhattan DA

Manhattan will have a new top prosecutor in charge on Jan. 1 when Alvin Bragg takes over for outgoing District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr., a fellow Democrat.

During his 12 years at the helm of the powerful office, Vance, 67, oversaw major cases and investigations, including the Harvey Weinstein trial and the ongoing probe into the Trump Organization.

But Vance, who decided not to seek reelection in 2021, was also plagued by controversy, with critics accusing his office of giving a pass to rich and famous defendants.
