The Infamous Stringdusters Share New Single and Video, “Up From The Bottom;” with a U.S. Tour Underway ahead of their new album Feb. 13

New York has played a key role in The Infamous Stringdusters’ touring history, and this winter the band has once again made the state a focal point as they celebrate two decades together.

With recent stops in Patchogue and New York City (and more New York dates on the horizon), the Grammy Award-winning bluegrass outfit has shared “Up From the Bottom,” the final single ahead of their upcoming album 20/20, due February 13 via Americana Vibes.

Written by banjoist Chris Pandolfi, “Up From the Bottom” grew out of the uncertainty and isolation of 2020, when the music world came to a standstill. Pandolfi has described the song as a personal comeback story, first written as a chorus he sang to himself while searching for direction. Though he wrote the song, lead vocals are handled by bassist Travis Book, whose calm delivery gives the track its emotional center.

“We’ve been around for 20 years, and I feel like we’re putting more into our music — both writing and the live shows — than we ever have. And the reality is, that you do need to step a little harder on the gas to get the same results — it takes real intention.”

The song showcases the Stringdusters’ ability to blend bluegrass tradition with a modern, road-tested feel. Each part feels purposeful, from the steady rhythmic drive to the careful interplay between instruments. Guitarist Andy Falco, a Long Island native, adds texture and restraint rather than flashy, reinforcing the band’s emphasis on cohesion over an individual spotlight.

“Up From the Bottom” also offers a clear preview of 20/20, a 20-track album marking the band’s 20th anniversary. Rather than leaning on nostalgia, the record is positioned as a reflection of where the band is now, which is shaped by years of touring, side projects, and shared growth. The single fits neatly within that vision, capturing resilience without overstating it.

Many of the songs are already released, including “Working Man Blues,”Dead Man Walking,” “Light at the End of the Day,” and “Dancing on the Moon.”

With 20/20 arriving February 13 and the band continuing to crisscross the country (including additional New York stops later this spring), “Up From the Bottom” serves as both a personal statement and a timely entry point into the next chapter of The Infamous Stringdusters. A full review of the album is planned ahead of its release.
