On March 3, Carnegie Hall will once again host the Tibet House US benefit Concert for its 39th Annual Concert. This year, Artistic Directors Philip Glass and Laurie Anderson will lead alongside Musical Director Tony Shanahan, and will feature a long list of extraordinary performances.
The concert will feature performances by Debbie Harry, The B-52’s Kate Pierson, Allison Russell, Toro y Moi, The Philip Glass Ensemble, Tenzin Choegyal, The Resistance Revival Chorus, and The Scorchio Quartet. The evening will also include honorary chair members Uma Thurman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard, Arden Wohl, and Jonah Freeman.
Past concerts have been frequently sold out and are renowned for their legendary performances by dazzling names in music and art.
In addition, Robert De Niro and Elvis Costello will join the lineup. Robert De Niro brings even greater depth and significance to the evening as he will read excerpts from Symphony No.15 “Lincoln” by Philip Glass. The excerpts resonate with the mission of Tibet House US, which is committed to preserving Tibetan culture and traditions of compassion and nonviolence.
The New York Times commented that, “The Tibet House Benefit Concert is a staple for New York society types and music fans who come to hear avant-garde newcomers play alongside legendary songwriters, performers and traditional Tibetan musicians. The ad-hoc collaborations between artists, many of whom would never otherwise be in the same room together, is particularly exciting to witness.”
All concert proceeds go to Tibet House US, which is a non-profit educational institution and cultural embassy focused on ensuring the survival of the Tibetan civilization and founded at the request of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
The concert will be held at The Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall on March 3, 2026, at 7:30 pm. Tickets are on sale now and can be found on the Carnegie Hall website, or by visiting the Carnegie Hall Box Office (57th Street and 7th Avenue). Special packages can also be bought that include concert tickets and tickets to a dinner reception with the performers.
