Out of Brooklyn, Ringing begin to carve out their place in New York’s music scene, channeling distortion into something cathartic. Their debut album Another Cycle in the Cosmic Wash moves through that noise, urging listeners to find clarity within its distortion.
The band, led by vocalist and guitarist Colton Walker, has grown from a solo project into a fully realized three-piece. After playing all over the East Coast over the past few years, Ringing has supported bands like Bleary Eyed, Shower Curtain, All Under Heaven, Soft Blue Shimmer. They draw inspiration from a stream-of-consciousness approach, creating music that feels fluid and instinctual. Their explosive nature mirrors this approach, with each song revealing glimpses into an evolving mental landscape. Brutalism, known for its raw and unpolished nature, makes their music feel unfiltered in a world of overproduction.

Recorded live in a single session in 2024, the album captures the band’s instinctive approach. the band’s last EP, Is It Light Out Where You Are?, arrived in 2023. Across its 10 tracks, the album explores a journey of growth and self-realization, making its release without a doubt, a defining moment for the band.
The “want2want2” and “incandescent” music videos take on a fragmented headspace, where distorted visuals mirror the guitar-driven distortion radiating from each track, therefore giving the band a distinct point of view. Additionally, Warped colors shape the atmosphere, removing listeners from reality and placing them within a world stripped of clarity, built entirely by the band’s sound. On the album, Colton sings, “You could start living more consciously, searching for something more interesting, desperate for any anomaly,” reflecting a search for intentional meaning over passive existence.
Ringing released their debut album Another Cycle in the Cosmic Wash on March 20, 2026 via Julia’s War Recordings and Signal//Noise Records.
