Ithaca three piece indie rock band, Porch Couch, channels the best of nineties alternative into new single Look No More. Blending the crunchy 1960s – 1970s British retro rock sound with the 1990 alternative feeling and aspirational lyrics resonates with today’s youth, recalling bands like Ben Folds Five and the Violent Femmes with their catchy, yet simple repetitive drum beats, and folk – punk vibes.
EP Album Free consists of singles Look No More and Little Bird. Songs thatcan be described as emotionally resonant and a reflection on manifestation. Aiming to reach the listener’s soul within the realm of inspiration, contemplation and honesty through lyrics. My only form of criticism is the slow build up within the intro of the single. Lingering too long in the intro before getting into the meat and potatoes of verses. In today’s society of short attention spans, it’s important to get right to the point in messaging.

Brothers Nick “Kolas” Santamarina, Vin E Santamarina and friend Joel “Wild Poncho” Teitelbaum are Porch Couch. That dependable piece of furniture that has been a staple in the family for too long, loved too much, and left outside to be a yard ornament. Just to be stolen by teenagers for remote social gatherings.

Look forward to their EP Release Party at Funk N Waffles in Syracuse on December 12.
