Pacha New York Announces Opening Weekend Date & Lineup: See Who’s Playing

Trending on Billboard

The operators of Pacha New York have revealed the date and lineup for the club’s long-awaited opening weekend.

Pacha New York will open over the weekend of June 20-21, with this two-night debut featuring English star Michael Bibi on June 20 and South African legend Black Coffee on June 21.

The Pacha set is Bibi’s only current U.S. date on the calendar outside of Chicago’s ARC Music Festival in September. For Black Coffee, Pacha is the only U.S. date on his current summer schedule.

The announcement marks a new beginning for the venue, which until recently was the beleaguered Brooklyn Mirage. In February, it was announced that the Dubai-based FIVE Holdings entered into a long-term agreement assuming full operational management of the Brooklyn Mirage and The Great Hall complex, two of the three spaces in the Avant Gardner complex in which Brooklyn Mirage resided.

This February announcement also revealed that Brooklyn Mirage would be transformed into the only U.S. location of Pacha, the clubbing institution with a historic flagship in Ibiza. The news followed months of drama surrounding the Brooklyn Mirage, which was set to open last May after an extensive remodel, but announced it would not be opening its doors the night before it was set to start, with every performance thereafter subsequently canceled as the club faced ongoing permitting issues and eventual bankruptcy.

Pacha operators acknowledged these issues in an April 7 email blast that went out to approximately 30,000 people who had unrefunded tickets and seasons passes from canceled Brooklyn Mirage shows, with the email offering the value of the original tickets as coupons for Pacha. A source close to the club tells Billboard that the total value of these coupons is equal to $3,107,654, with these vouchers good for food, drinks and merchandise at any Pacha New York event.

“Before we look ahead, we want to speak directly to you, the community that has always been at the heartbeat of New York’s dance culture” the email reads. “We know the last chapter left many of you frustrated. Especially those who held tickets for shows at the Brooklyn Mirage that never happened and were never refunded. While Pacha New York was not involved in these circumstances, we’ve made a conscious decision on making this right for you… We’re offering 100% of your original ticket value as a coupon at Pacha New York.”
