NYC comedy veteran and show producer Jeremy Pinsly and his wife Kayla Pinsly will open Greenpoint Comedy Club on Thursday, April 10 with a grand opening weekend running through Saturday, April 11.
The bar opens in late March, with live comedy kicking off Thursday, April 10 at 8 p.m., followed by an opening party with music, food and comics. Saturday, April 11 features two shows at 7:30 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. The 2,000-square-foot venue at 66 Greenpoint Avenue in Brooklyn features a bar room with craft cocktails open afternoons through 2 a.m.
Jeremy Pinsly has performed and produced standup in NYC and on the road for more than 15 years. He’s produced shows in comedy clubs, speakeasies, a boxing gym and a Cobble Hill brownstone where monthly shows sold out consistently for two years. Armed with a sense of what works and what is missing from most comedy venues, the Pinslys aim to make Greenpoint Comedy Club a destination for NYC comedy.
The venue features top-of-the-line lighting and A/V systems designed to maximize the experience for both comics and audiences. Jeremy aims to create a place for comedians at all stages of their career to reach new audiences, describing GCC’s mission as “to run the highest quality show possible while also giving younger comics a chance to get their start.”
Greenpoint Comedy Club will serve as an incubator for the comedy scene, bringing “the hang” back with guests and performers welcome to mingle and network before and after performances. The space is intentionally designed so visitors can grab a drink and meet new friends all night long.
With a cozy atmosphere, ample seating and an alcohol program curated by industry veteran and mixologist Dory Greenberg, GCC aims to be a spot where visitors can grab a drink and stay a while. While comedy is at the heart of the club, programming will also feature live music, writing workshops and after-school programs, offering a space for creatives to gather.
Born in Nashville, Pinsly has produced standup shows at comedy clubs, bars, restaurants and speakeasies all over NYC. In 2022, Jeremy and Kayla started a comedy show in their apartment, Bubbe’s Comedy Hour, which ran successfully for over two years. Most recently, Jeremy started a comedy production business in Nashville, running shows at Friends in Low Places on Broadway, Music City Boxing Gym and other venues before founding Greenpoint Comedy Club in late fall 2025.
