Fridays at the Lake Concludes with Ten Most Wanted and Rick Rourke’s Lost Wages

Lake George’s beloved annual concert series, Fridays at the Lake, concludes this Friday, August 29, with performances by Saratoga-based bands Ten Most Wanted and Rick Rourke’s Lost Wages. The free concert at Lake George’s Shepard Park will run from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Ten Most Wanted headlines the night of music from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., playing tracks across a broad span of genres, from R&B and funk to soul and rock. This 10-piece band, hailing locally from Saratoga Springs, is known for its stellar 4-piece horn section who establish the foundation for the band’s equally talented vocalists.

Ten Most Wanted prides themselves on their fantastic arrangements, high energy, and unparalleled entertainment value. One of their specialties is festival entertainment, as seen in their previous performances at Fridays on the Lake.

Kicking off the night from 6:00 p.m. to 7:10 p.m. will be Rick Rourke’s Lost Wages, a roots, blues, and acoustic soul band led by Troy’s very own Rick Rourke. Despite Rick’s New York origins, fans can’t help but be reminded of Texas when they listen to the soulful songwriting and roots-influenced sound of the Lost Wages’ songs. The band gives a voice to the underrepresented – the soldiers, the street musicians, the working men – who Rick has known throughout his life.

“Rick is from Troy, NY, but I kept thinking of Texas when I listened to this album. Not the Bob Wills or Stevie Ray brand of Texas music, but that particular blend of soul and songwriting chops that distinguishes artists like Delbert McClinton and Joe Ely. Songs that you could sing in a coffeehouse but that might be more at home in a honky tonk.”

This Friday night closes out seven straight weeks of Friday performances at Shepard Park, right off of Lake George’s Canada Street. The yearly concert series aims to highlight talented musicians from the Adirondacks and beyond against the beautiful backdrop of Lake George.

The concert is free for all, with several public food and beverage vendors available to concertgoers. So if you’re free this Friday, don’t miss your last chance at an unforgettable night of music at one of the most scenic venues in the state.
