NY1 is celebrating Black Music Month with a profile of Grammy-winning artist and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Dionne Warwick.
The music legend will perform at the Apollo Theater in Harlem on Friday, June 27.
The concert, titled “Dionne Warwick: Don’t Make Me Over, One Night Only,” will be one of the final performances at the venue before it closes for renovations.
In an interview with NY1’s Dean Meminger, Warwick, 84, said she’s proud to still be on stage.
“It is wonderful to know that people still appreciate good music — and that’s what I sing, good music,” she said.
In years past, other musical greats like have also graced the Apollo stage.
