When Sinners dropped last spring, we couldn’t help but be seated for a movie with 98% of Michael B. Jordan screen time. Seriously, whoever decided to cast him as twins, Smoke and Stack, for the film deserves a raise!
Of course, some of that screen time includes a steamy scene with Hailee Steinfeld, and while viewers witnessed their spit play in action, they likely wondered if MBJ is romantically linked to anyone IRL in our good year 2026. It’s a valid question, as the Oscar nominee has been bringing his mom as his date to every show this awards season.
Aside from his public relationship with Lori Harvey in 2022, his love life is apparently very low-key. Most of the girlies we’ve tracked down online are merely rumored connections that weren’t exactly confirmed, so take this with a grain of salt. Either way, let’s take a sec to dive into Michael B. Jordan’s dating history.
2015: Kendall Jenner
Kendall has seemingly dated every hot man in Hollywood, and her rumored romance with Michael is no exception. The pair raised eyebrows when they were reportedly spotted leaving a Met Gala after-party together in 2015, though nothing was ever confirmed. At the time, Michael faced backlash for potentially dating a white woman, and in October that year, he addressed the hoopla in a cover story for GQ. “It’s the world we live in,” he said. “They see white and black. I don’t.”
He continued, “A lot of Black fans were feeling like, ‘Oh, my God, he should have been with a Black woman’ and that whole thing. I get it, but on the other hand it’s, like, relax. You know—it’s 2015. It’s okay!”
In the end, he debunked any romance rumors with Kenny altogether, saying, “Kendall’s a friend of mine, you know. I don’t know her, like, that well, but I know her enough. People’s perspective on that is what it is.”
Michael and Kendall seem to remain friendly nearly a decade later, as they snapped a pic with Hailey Bieber at W magazine’s annual Best Performances party at the Chateau Marmont on January 10.
2019: Kiki Layne
Michael sparked dating rumors with If Beale Street Could Talk’s Kiki Layne at Sundance Film Festival in 2019. An insider told People at the time that the pair had a “flirty” exchange at the Tao nightclub pop-up in Park City, Utah, saying, “Michael and Kiki were super flirty all night. He spent literally all night talking and focused on her.”
The actors themselves never addressed the speculation, which brings us to…
2019: Cindy Bruna
Later that same year, MBJ was photographed after a dinner outing with Victoria’s Secret model, Cindy Bruna, at Carbone in NYC. Per pics obtained by Just Jared, Michael couldn’t stop smiling during the outing. They weren’t photographed together again after that, so there’s a chance it might have been a one-off date, if it was even that!
2020: Megan Thee Stallion
Honestly, we’d totally be down for this potential pairing. While Meg is currently loved up with Klay Thompson, she and Michael were spotted front row at Coach’s runway show in February 2020.
Dating rumors between the Black Panther star and H-Town Hottie were fueled further when he publicly supported her after singer Tory Lanez reportedly shot her. Michael was one of the many celebrities who showed love for Meg.
“Meg I admire your courage and applaud you for speaking up. We must Support Black Women, Protect Black Women, and Believe Black Women,” he wrote in a since-deleted social media post, per CNN.
They also had a flirty Instagram comment exchange in July of that year. According to The Shade Room, Michael left an iced-out emoji on a video of Meg twerking in a pool. Hot Girl Summer was in full swing, okay?!
The pair never confirmed the nature of their connection, but there’s a chance they could have just been friends.
2020—2022: Lori Harvey
Michael’s relationship with Lori Harvey is his most public and high-profile romance to date, and, unlike the others on this list, it was 100% confirmed. Speculation started when they were photographed at an Atlanta airport in November 2020, but it wasn’t until January 2021 that they went public with their romance and hard-launched on Instagram.
Michael later explained to People in April 2021 that he was “extremely happy” to share their love with the world.
“I’m still private, and I want to protect that, but it just felt like it was a moment of just wanting to put it out there and move on,” he said. “I am extremely happy.” He added, “I think when you get older, you feel more comfortable about the [public nature] of the business that we’re in.”
Lori echoed his sentiment during an interview with Bustle in June 2021, saying, “Just as I’ve gotten older and interests change, I think this was something that I just decided to be a little bit more public with because it’s a more serious relationship. I think we’re both very private people naturally. So we just decide, if we take a picture or whatever it is, do you want to post this? Do we not?”
They made their red carpet debut at the Vanity Fair Oscar after-party in February 2022 before they split in June of that same year. According to People insiders, the couple was “completely heartbroken” after their breakup, with another adding that Lori “wasn’t ready to commit” as she was “very focused on her career.” They still love each other.”
