Kevin McCarthy was elected Speaker of the House early Saturday morning on the 15th vote after a tense evening of Republican chaos on Capitol Hill.
The California Congress member finally gained a majority of voting members thanks to several far right-wing opponents voting present, including Florida Congress Member Matt Gaetz, who had voted present on the 14th vote Friday evening and denied McCarthy the speakership by a single vote.
