Frank DiLella’s theater picks: ‘The Baker’s Wife,’ ‘Spiral Bound’ and more

With the many entertainment choices New York City has to offer, it can be difficult to make a choice. Look no further. “On Stage” host Frank DiLella has curated a list of “must-see” shows this week, directing you to the best of Broadway, off-Broadway and beyond.

“The Baker’s Wife”

It’s taken more than half a century, but “The Baker’s Wife” has finally made it to New York City. The musical is written by celebrated composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz and the late Joseph Stein and stars Oscar Award-winner Ariana DeBose. The show is set in a small village that has been without bread since the last baker passed away. When a new baker and his wife, Geneviève, arrive, they bring more than warm loaves to the community — they stir up the whole town. DeBose plays Geneviève — opposite Scott Bakula’s baker. She joined “On Stage” to discuss more.
