Frank DiLella’s theater picks: ‘Marjorie Prime,’ ‘Messy White Gays’ and more

With the many entertainment choices New York City has to offer, it can be difficult to make a choice. Look no further. “On Stage” host Frank DiLella has curated a list of “must-see” shows this week, directing you to the best of Broadway, off-Broadway and beyond.

“Marjorie Prime”

Oscar Award-nominee June Squibb returns to Broadway as the title character in “Marjorie Prime,” starring alongside Cynthia Nixon, Danny Burstein and Christopher Lowell. In the play, the audience meets an ailing Marjorie – who is spending her final chapter communicating with an AI recreation of a younger version of her deceased husband. “Marjorie Prime” is now in previews at the Helen Hayes Theatre. Opening is set for Dec. 8.

“Messy White Gays”

Over at The Duke on 42nd Street, check out “Messy White Gays.” The play is written by and stars Drew Droege. “On Stage” recently caught up with Drew to chat about this brutal new satire.

“Hamilton: Ten Years — A Legacy”

And finally, this weekend on “On Stage,” don’t miss our hour-long special, “Hamilton: Ten Years — A Legacy.” The special dives into the history of the groundbreaking musical with company members who were there from the very beginning, including “Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda and “Hamilton’s” original Tony Award-winning Aaron Burr, Leslie Odom, Jr., who is back in the show until Nov. 26.
