With the many entertainment choices New York City has to offer, it can be difficult to make a choice. Look no further. “On Stage” host Frank DiLella has curated a list of “must-see” shows this week, directing you to the best of Broadway, off-Broadway and beyond.
“Hell’s Kitchen”
The Alicia Keys musical “Hell’s Kitchen” is rocking Broadway’s Shubert Theater. The show, which is loosely based on Keys’ experience of growing up in Manhattan, stars Broadway favorites Jessica Vosk and Christopher Jackson. “On Stage” recently caught up with the “Hamilton” alum to talk about taking on Keys’ music.
“The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay”
Over at The Metropolitan Opera, don’t miss “The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay,” which runs now through Oct. 11. Inspired by the Pulitzer Prize Award-winning novel, the opera is set right before World War II and centers on two Jewish cousins who dream up an anti-fascist superhero and launch their own comic book series, with the hope of getting America to fight against Nazism. The opera is directed by Tony Award-winner Bartlett Sher.

Randy Rainbow: National Freakin’ Treasure
On Saturday night, don’t miss one of my favorites, comedian Randy Rainbow in his latest show “National Freakin’ Treasure.” Expect fabulous musical moments and, of course, Randy’s take on current events and U.S. politics. Randy’s playing The Town Hall on Oct. 4.

The play features a series of monologues, centering on mental illness and the complexities of the human experience. The evening will feature Jane Fonda, Edie Falco, Mark Ruffalo and more.
