Adams marks late rapper Biggie Smalls' upcoming 50th birthday

In a tribute to the late rapper Notorious B.I.G., Mayor Eric Adams at City Hall on Thursday hailed the life and legacy of the Brooklyn-born artist just days before he would have turned 50 years old.

Standing with C.J. Wallace, Biggie Smalls’ son, and Chief Advisor Dr. Ingrid Lewis-Martin, Adams noted the way in which Biggie’s artistry transcended barriers and inspired so many, including many of New York’s elected officials in office today.

“Biggie Smalls is truly an icon. All of the elected officials, from the top executive in New York City, the public advocate and our attorney general, all grew up on Biggie Smalls,” Adams said.
