Luke A. Voiland named managing principal of Shepley Bulfinch

Luke A. Voiland has been named managing principal of Shepley Bulfinch. In this role, Luke will oversee both practice and market strategy nationally for the firm.

This decision follows the firm’s latest iteration of strategic planning. “With an emphasis on clients and market development, it highlights our focus on developing client relationships and delivering exceptional work,” said Angela Watson, president and CEO, Shepley Bulfinch.” Luke’s experience and relationships ensures that our clients continue to benefit from the strong continuity of partnerships Shepley is known for, paired with new opportunities for deeper collaboration.”

Luke was previously executive vice president for Practice Strategy at Shepley Bulfinch, where he led the design of life sciences, education, and healthcare projects. He brings an inquisitive approach to the design process while advocating for design responses that include natural light, flexibility, and healthy materials to create responsive, collaborative environments. His recent clients include Princeton University, Penn Medicine, Harvard Medical School, the Ringling College of Art, and the University of Houston. Notably, his work on the Life Lab at the Harvard Business School earned the AIA’s Education Facility Design Award in 2018; and the Francis A. Countway Library Renovations have won recognitions from the AIA, the International Interior Design Association, the American Library Association, and the Boston Preservation Alliance.

He’ll continue his design leadership from the firm’s Boston studio.
