As runners from around the world prepare to trek the 26.2 miles from the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge to Central Park, city restaurants are gearing up for a busy weekend, too, serving carb-heavy meals for the athletes participating in the TCS New York City Marathon and their fans. It’s a welcome boost in business at a time when eateries are still recovering from pandemic times.
“It’s always a sold-out day,” said Jeffrey Bank, who owns two locations of Carmine’s, including one near the race’s finish line.
