It’s happening! Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are headed down to Australia for the first time in 7 years. The couple last visited the country in 2018 while they were still working royals, so the visit is a loooong time in the making.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed that they’ll be jetting off to Australia in mid-April. “Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, will visit Australia in mid-April to take part in a number of private, business, and philanthropic engagements. Further details will be shared in due course,” a spokesperson for the couple said in a statement to People.
ICYMI, Prince Harry and Meghan actually hinted at their Australia trip in November 2025, with a letter written to Australian celebrity astrologer Angela Pearl, a friend they met up with during their last visit in New York City.
Pearl shared the personal note to Instagram, because truly who wouldn’t: “Dear Angela. We wanted to thank you for joining us…(redacted),” Meghan and Harry wrote. “Your energy and insight were such a welcome addition … we hope your family in Ukraine remain safe, and we look forward to staying in touch especially as we look to visit Australia again.”
But since we can’t have nice things, the couple’s Australia trip is coming with a side of royal drama. According to a source at the National Examiner, the Sussexes’ planned visit “is not sitting well with William.” Why? Welp, he’s not exactly jazzed by the idea of Harry and Meghan being “treated like visiting royalty.”
“He sees that kind of thing as fraudulent, and now that he’s aware they are planning this trip down under, he will be reaching out to all his contacts there to let his feelings be known.” The source added that William thinks “he’s just protecting the interests of the Crown” considering that Meghan and Harry “are no longer [working] royals.”
As for me, I will be awaiting photos from Meghan and Harry’s upcoming trip with the utmost excitement. Marking my cal!
